The story goes like this: one afternoon, our founder Lowell was out with his son and grandson, Austin. As they rode together in Lowell's son's pickup, Lowell’s son began explaining their family relationship to little Austin. He said, “Austin, I am your daddy, and this is my daddy.”
Austin paused, looked up at his grandfather, and with the clarity only a child can have, declared, “No, that’s Big Daddy.”
From that moment on, the nickname stuck. What began as a toddler’s heartfelt label quickly became a family identity. When the time came to build a woodworking business, there was never any question what to call it.
